Madeline Natalee Copeland, of Eureka, died on Wednesday, November 26, 2003 at Medicalodge in Eureka at the age of 81.
She was born on June 2, 1922, in Miami, Florida, the daughter of Lucius St. Clair and Myrtle J. (Jernigan) King. She was raised in Florida, Colorado, and Missouri. She moved to Rosalia in 1958, then moved to California for a few years, and then returned to Eureka in 1978. She finished her schooling at Butler County Community College and Wichita State University and worked as a LPN at the Greenwood County Hospital in Eureka.
In 1952, Madeline was united in marriage to Martin Copeland in Kansas. They made their home in the Rosalia area. They were later divorced.
She is survived by one daughter, Katy Prowse, of Reece, Kansas; four grandchildren and three great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, two sons, three brothers, two sisters, and one grandchild.
Cremation has been effected.
