Louise Marie Adams, of Topeka, passed away on Wednesday, April 21, 2010, at Midland Hospice House, in Topeka, at the age of 94.
She was born on April 19, 1916, in Garber, Oklahoma to August and Charlotte (Meier) Bruns. She attended grade school in Garber, Oklahoma, and Winfield, Kansas. She graduated from high school at the academy at St. John’s Lutheran College in Winfield.
On October 17, 1937, Louise was united in marriage to Felix Adams in Eureka. They farmed northwest of Eureka until 1958 when they moved to Virgil. She was a bookkeeper for 20 years for the Woodson County Coop at Virgil.
She is survived by three sons, Don Adams of Springfield, MO.; Felix, Jr. and wife, Janice of Wichita; and David and wife, Barbara Adams of Virgil; three daughters, Ellen and husband, Glen Berry of Topeka; Sharon and husband, John Schultze of Ottawa, and Theresa and husband, William Trecek of Topeka; 13 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; and one sister, Gladys Miller of Eureka. She was preceded in death by her husband, Felix Adams, Sr., one daughter, Patricia Jean Adams, her parents, two sisters, and one brother.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 P.M., Saturday, April 24, 2010 at Koup Family Funeral Home, in Eureka. Interment will follow at Greenwood Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that memorials be made to the Greenwood County Historical Society or to the Midland Hospice House. Contributions may be sent in care of Koup Family Funeral Home at P.O. Box 595, Eureka, KS 67045, which was in charge of service arrangements.
