Lorena Bell Janney of Eureka, died on Wednesday, April 27, 2011, at Greenwood County Hospital in Eureka, at the age of 97.

She was born on May 27, 1913, in Frontenac, Kansas, the daughter of Joseph and Nora (Allen) Suschnick. She was raised in the Pittsburg area on the family farm and attended local schools.

On August 17, 1940, Lorena was united in marriage to Roy Janney in Pittsburg. They made their home in Oil Hill where Roy worked in the oilfields. In 1951, they opened Janney Tractor Company which they operated until their retirement to the family farm, in 1976.

She is survived by two sons, George Janney of El Dorado; and William L. Janney of Troup, Texas; five grandchildren, Christina Janney, Jennifer Harris, Annette Cohen, Kymberlyn Adams, and Lea Lynn Berryhill; and five great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, one brother, and one sister.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 P.M., Saturday, April 30, 2011, at Koup Family Funeral Home, with Reverend Rhonda Almond of the Christian & Congregational Church officiating. Interment will follow at Greenwood Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that memorials be made to the Christian & Congregational Church. Contributions may be sent in care of Koup Family Funeral Home at P.O. Box 595, Eureka, KS 67045, which was in charge of service arrangements.
