Loren Eugene Gulick of Toronto, died on Saturday, October 15, 2011 at Via Christi – St. Francis Medical Center in Wichita, at the age of 80.
He was born on November 8, 1930, in Wichita, the son of Walter and Mettie (Howrey) Gulick. He was raised in the Toronto and Eureka area, attending Fairview school and later Eureka High School. On September 7, 1951, Loren was united in marriage to Shirley McMillian in Eureka. They made their home in Toronto. Loren was an oil driller, and farmed around Eureka and Toronto.
He is survived by his wife, Shirley of the home; five sons: Ron Gulick, Tim Gulick, Terry “Cotton” Gulick, Gary “Chop” Gulick, and Albert Gulick, all of Eureka; one daughter, Cindy McCoy of Neal; 21 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, daughter, Vicky Meadows, and grandson, Kelly Meadows.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 A.M., Wednesday, October 19, 2011 at Koup Family Funeral Home, in Eureka with Pastor Alan Hunter officiating. Interment will follow at Toronto Cemetery. A visitation will be held from 6:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M., Tuesday, at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that memorials be made to Harry Hynes Memorial Hospice. Contributions may be sent in care of Koup Family Funeral Home at P.O. Box 595, Eureka, KS 67045, which was in charge of service arrangements.
