Lonnie Diltz Henderson of Eureka, died on Thursday, February 5, 2015, at the Eureka Nursing Center, in Eureka, at the age of 85.

He was born on February 15, 1929, in Washington, Kansas the son of Diltz Fisher and Mollie Clarissa (Mooren) Henderson. Lonnie moved to Neal when he was 13 years old and attended local schools. He then went to work on the family farm. On July 31, 1948, Lonnie was united in marriage to Rosaline Lou Boone in Bentonville, Arkansas. They made their home in Neal. He worked for MacClaskey Crude as a truck driver while still farming. He also drove the Eureka school activity bus.

He was a member of the Neal Methodist Church. He also was a member on the Greenwood County Cattlemen’s Association, Neal Volunteer Fire Department and many Greenwood County Agriculture Boards.

He is survived by two children, daughter, Rebecca Lindamood and husband, Jack of Virgil; and son, Kent Henderson and wife, Rob of Burlington; seven grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and one sister, Genella Helm of Seattle, Washington. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, and two sons, Terry Diltz Henderson and Marty Ross Henderson.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 A.M., Tuesday, February 10, 2015, at Koup Family Funeral Home with Pastor Warren Olson officiating. Interment will follow at Neal Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that memorials be made to Eureka Public Library or the Neal United Methodist Church. Contributions may be sent in care of Koup Family Funeral Home, P.O. Box 595, Eureka, KS 67045, which was in charge of service arrangements.
