Lois Lola Olson, of El Dorado, former Eureka resident, died at Susan B. Allen Memorial Hospital in El Dorado on Friday, June 18, 2004, at the age of 98.
She was born in Greenwood County, Kansas on December 15, 1905, the daughter of Carl A. and Dovie (Cook) Olson. She was raised in the Bachelor Creek, Spring Creek, and Sallyards areas and attended rural schools.
After her schooling she worked on the family farm. She moved to El Dorado in the late 1960’s after her retirement.
Lois is survived by one sister, Nina Anderson of El Dorado, one brother-in-law, Harold Cross of El Dorado, and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, six brothers, and one sister.
Graveside services and interment will be held at 10:00 A.M., Tuesday, June 22, 2004, in Greenwood Cemetery, with Pastor Alan Hunter of the Jefferson Street Baptist Church officiating.
A memorial has been established in her name to Kansas State University Center for Basic Cancer Research. Contributions may be sent in care of the Koup Family Funeral Home which was in charge of service arrangements.
