Lloyd E. Nichols, of Eureka, died on July 9, 2007, at Medicalodge of Eureka at the age of 95.
He was born on June 13, 1912, in Eureka, Kansas, the son of John Carl and Bonnie (Brown) Nichols. He was raised in the Eureka area and graduated from Tonovay High School with the class of 1930. After his schooling, he was a farmer and a rancher. Lloyd ranched and worked the farm until just six months before his death.
On May 9, 1937, he married Dorothy Ellen Snider in Eureka, Kansas. She preceded him in death on February 4, 1998.
Lloyd was a member of the Christian and Congregational Church. He was a member of the Greenwood County Cattlemen’s Association and various other organizations.
He is survived by his son, Lonnie Nichols of Eureka, Kansas; daughter Lorena Nichols of Redmond, Washington; five grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and one brother, Wayne Nichols of Overland Park, Kansas. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, daughter, Janice Nichols, and three brothers.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M., Friday, July 13, 2007, at Koup Family Funeral Home with Reverend Rhonda K. Almond of the Christian & Congregational Church officiating. Interment will follow in Greenwood Cemetery.
