Linda Fay Criswell of Eureka, died on Tuesday, May 23, 2023, at Greenwood County Hospital, in Eureka, at the age of 66.
She was born on November 9, 1956, in Eureka, the daughter of Vernie Lee and Nancy Fay (Hayden) Mills. She attended grade school in Iola and the family returned to Eureka in 1966. Linda graduated from Eureka High School with the Class of 1974. On September 16, 1975, Linda was united in marriage to James Webster Criswell, Jr. They made their home in Eureka for a short time before moving to Galveston, Texas and later Ozark, Missouri. They retired to Eureka in 2001.
Linda was a stay-at-home mother. She sewed, cooked, and did crafts with her children and grandchildren. She also was a volunteer at the Ozark Library. Jim preceded her in death on March 24, 2021.
Linda is survived by their children: Greg Criswell of Girard, Illinois; Debbie Wikso of Austin, Texas; Tricia Criswell of Martindale, Texas; Amy Huff of McKinney, Texas; Scot Criswell of Springfield, Missouri; and Jenifer Criswell of the home; eight grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and three siblings: Sam Mills of Garnett; Kathy Earnest of Pleasanton; and Bob Mills of Garnett. She was preceded in death by her parents; and two siblings: William Melvin “Bill” Mills and Cecil Dwane Wright.
Memorial services will be held at 10:00 A.M., Tuesday, May 30, 2023, at Greenwood Cemetery, Eureka with Pastor Kevin Lawrence of the Climax United Methodist Church officiating. Cremation has been effected.
