Kay Jodell (Jackson) Brougher of Eureka, died on Thursday, September 1, 2016, at Eureka Nursing Center in Eureka, at the age of 81.
She was born on September 27, 1934, in Wichita, the daughter of John James and Marie (Singleton) Jackson. She was raised in Eureka and graduated from Eureka High School with the Class of 1953. On June 12, 1954, Kay was united in marriage to Wayne Edwin Brougher in Howard. They made their home in Eureka.
Kay was a homemaker and a Past Noble Grand of the Eureka Eastwood Rebekah’s Lodge.
She is survived by sister-in-law, Barbara Gaffney of Augusta; two nephews, Brett and wife, Deanna Gaffney of Wichita; and Larry and wife, Stella Bolt of Derby; and numerous Jackson cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents, and husband.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M., Thursday, September 8, 2016, at Christ Lutheran Church with Reverend Tim Meyer officiating. Interment will follow at Greenwood Cemetery. Visitation hours are set from 5:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M., Wednesday, at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that memorials be made to the Christ Lutheran Church or to the Greenwood County Hospital Foundation.
