Karen Kay Rohrer of Wichita, died on Monday, March 1, 2021 at Wesley Medical Center, in Wichita, at the age of 71.
She was born on September 27, 1949, in Eureka, the daughter of Richard Martin and Bernadine Aletha (Stuber) Olson. She was raised in Eureka, El Dorado, and Newton, graduated from Newton High School. She then attended X-ray technologist schooling at St. Joseph Hospital and upon completing began working in the health care sector in Wichita.
On January 16, 1981, Karen was united in marriage to Gregory Alan Rohrer in Wichita. They made their home in Wichita. To this union, one daughter was born. She retired in the mid-2010’s after 40 years as a medical professional.
She is survived by her husband, Greg of the home; daughter, Dawn Renee and husband, James Tucker of Wichita; two grandchildren: Tyler Tucker, and Georgia Mae Tucker; and three siblings: Marilyn Billingsley of Wichita; Richard Olson of Bossier City, Louisiana; and her twin, Sharon Buchanan of Denver, Colorado. She was preceded in death by her parents.
Memorial services will be held at 2:00 P.M., Friday, March 5, 2021, at Upper Fall River Cemetery with Pastor Kevin Lawrence of the Climax United Methodist Church officiating. Masks should be worn, and social distancing observed. Cremation has been effected. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that memorials be made to the Parkinson’s Foundation.
