Joshua L. Smith
Joshua L. Smith of Haysville, formerly of Toronto, died on October 10, 2012 in Toronto at the age of 25.
Joshua was born in Wichita, the son of Clyde J. and Kimberly (Engstrand) Smith, Jr. He was raised in Toronto and attended school in Yates Center. Later he became a welder working with Local 798 in Tulsa. He worked part-time with his grandfather at H and S Propane.
On April 13, 2009 he was united in marriage to Shanette Schlotterbeck in Toronto.
He was a member of the Good News Baptist Church.
He is survived by his wife, Shanette of the home; daughters, Madison and Megan Smith; parents, Clyde and Kim Smith of Toronto, and Sheila Schlotterbeck of Wichita; brother, Casey and wife, Kathy Smith of Yates Center; sisters, Nicole and husband, Tim Barney of Minneapolis, Kansas; and Krystal Smith of Toronto; grandparents, Gene and Sandy Engstrand of Haysville, Clyde and Marlene Smith of Toronto, and Connie McKenzie of El Dorado; and a host of relatives and friends.
Graveside services will be held at 2:00 P.M., Monday, October 15, 2012 at Toronto Cemetery, Toronto, Kansas with Pastor Dave Hatch officiating.
In lieu of flowers a memorial may be made to the Madison and Megan Scholarship Fund. Contributions may be sent in care of Koup Family Funeral Home at P.O. Box 595, Eureka, KS 67045, which was in charge of service arrangements.
