John David Kuhn, of Eureka, died at his residence on Saturday, January 11, 2003, at the age of 62.
He was born in Reece, Kansas on January 8, 1941, the son of Willie and Florence (Adams) Kuhn. He was raised in the Piedmont area and graduated from Piedmont High School with the class of 1958. After his schooling, John moved to Wichita to start his career as a ceramic tile layer.
On February 14, 1961, he was united in marriage to Ora Boren at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Eureka. They made their home in Hays until 1972, when the family moved to Eureka.
John was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, and had continued to lay tile and carpet until his death.
He is survived by his wife, Ora, of the home, one son, David Kuhn of Eureka, three daughters, Brenda Hayes of Burlingame, Shelly Hoggatt of Lawrence, and Trina McCoy of Eureka, thirteen grandchildren, and one brother, Gary Kuhn of Eureka. He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, and one sister.
Funeral services will be held at Sacred Heart Catholic Church on Wednesday, January 15, 2003, with Rosary recitation at 10:00 A.M., and Funeral Mass at 10:30 A.M., with Father Leo Kerschen officiating.
Memorials have been established in his name to Sacred Heart Catholic Church and Hospice Care of Kansas. Contributions may be sent in care of Koup Family Funeral Home, which was in charge of service arrangements.
