John C. Jackson
John Cecil Jackson, of Eureka, died on September 2, 2012 at Greenwood County Hospital, in Eureka, at the age of 56.
John was born on October 18, 1955 in Eureka, the son of Albert and Gail (Leedy) Jackson. He was raised in the Eureka area attending local schools. After his graduation, he went to work in oil fields as a rough neck and later as a pipefitter for the oil refineries. John went to work for Greenwood County as a Landfill Foreman and recycling center.
John married Gretchen Murray this marriage later ended in divorce. On January 28, 1995, he was united in marriage to Tami Hart in Eureka, where they made their home.
He was a member of the Christ Lutheran Church of Eureka and was a member of the Lion’s Club.
He is survived by his wife Tami of the home; children, Jolene Jackson of Kansas City, Missouri; Trent and wife, Tina Crisswell of Eureka; and Clay and wife, Jenny Crisswell of Fredonia; four grandchildren: Terik, Keira, Layton Jo, and Taytum Crisswell; sisters, Alberta Lewis of New Mexico; Patty Bunyard of Eureka; Phyllis Churchill of North Carolina; and Robin Jackson of Andover. He was preceded in death by his parents, and a daughter, Desiree Jackson.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M., Friday, September 7, 2012 at Koup Family Funeral Home with Pastor Jerry Clark officiating. Interment will follow in Greenwood Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that memorials be made to the Lion’s Club of Eureka. Contributions may be sent in care of Koup Family Funeral Home at P.O. Box 595, Eureka, KS 67045, which was in charge of service arrangements.
