John L. Hamilton
John Lee Hamilton of Reece, died on November 28, 2014 at Greenwood County Hospital at the age of 61.
John was born on September 26, 1953 in Eureka, Kansas the son of Dale and Irene (Petty) Hamilton. He attended local schools and graduated from Eureka High School. After his schooling he worked with his father in construction. Later he worked for Pester Refining and Coastal Refining. John then worked for the El Dorado Correctional Facility before retiring July 1, 2014. He was a true outdoorsman. He loved hunting, fishing, gardening, camping, traveling and cutting wood.
On April 8, 1973 he was united in marriage to Terri Mann in Reece, Kansas making Greenwood County their home.
He was a member of the Reece Christian Church and served as a Deacon.
He is survived by his wife Terri of the home, children, Bridget (Rob) Strickland of Wichita, Jay Hamilton and fiancé Darci Morland of Eureka, Staci (Patrick) Seiter of rural Virgil and Kelli (Chad) Gulick of Piedmont; twelve grandchildren and one great-grandchild. Sisters, Kay Bogle of Eureka, Linda Larcom of Reece and Ronda Gratz of Kansas City, Kansas; brother Don Hamilton of Eureka. He was preceded in death by parents, and brother Ronnie Hamilton.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 P.M., Tuesday, December 2, 2014 at Reece Christian Church in Reece, Kansas. Interment will follow at Greenwood Cemetery, Eureka, Kansas.
