John Randolph Carrington of Eureka, died October 5, 2003 at his residence in Eureka, at the age of 61.
He was born on January 30, 1942 in Eureka, the son of Willard Randolph and Helen Genevieve (Cannon) Carrington. He attended Eureka schools until he joined the United States Army in 1960. He later finished his schooling while in the Army. He did tours of duty in Germany and Korea. In 1980, John retired from the Army after serving his country for twenty years. He then started his own mechanic business.
He was a member of the Baptist Church in Kansas City and a member of the Christian Church of Eureka. John was also a member of VFW Post 2712 of Eureka.
He is survived by his companion, La Donna Pate of Eureka; one son, John Carrington; two daughters, Grace Carrington and Marianne Arroyo, all of California; one brother, Willard Carrington, of Kansas City, Missouri; two sisters, Rose Marie Mitchell, of Kansas City, Missouri, and Alice Cook, of Eureka; and 8 grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister.
