Joan Culler of Eureka, died on Saturday, March 15, 2014 at the Eureka Nursing Center in Eureka at the age of 82.
She was born on June 12, 1931, in Eureka, Kansas the daughter of John and Elizabeth (Allan) Snider. Joan was raised in Eureka and graduated from Eureka High School. On April 22, 1950 she married Lee Roy “Cork” Culler in Raton, New Mexico. Joan and Lee Roy traveled all over the state of Kansas with his job at the telephone company. When the family moved to Eureka she worked at various jobs including typing transcripts for a court reporter, a secretary at Farm Bureau and later for the Greenwood County Hospital in the business office until her retirement.
She is survived by her daughter, Melinda Nichols of Eureka; five grandchildren; and ten great-grandchildren. Joan was preceded in death by her parents, husband, son, Alan Culler and sister, Sally Reich.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M., Tuesday, March 18, 2014 at Koup Family Funeral Home with Mr. Mike Kelley officiating. Interment will follow at Greenwood Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Greenwood County Hospital or the Midian Shrine Plane of Mercy. Contributions may be sent in care of Koup Family Funeral Home, P.O. Box 595, Eureka, KS 67045, which was in charge of service arrangements.
