Jo Marie Davidson Profile Photo
Jo Marie Davidson, formerly of Eureka, died on Thursday, December 15, 2022, at Evergreen Community of Johnson County, in Olathe, at the age of 92.

She was born on January 28, 1930, in Blackwell, Oklahoma, the daughter of Monroe Howard and Allie Mildred (Triplett) Wayman. She was raised all around Oklahoma, as the family moved with the oil work. On May 27, 1949, Jo was united in marriage to her high school sweetheart, Jerry Bee Davidson, in Okemah, Oklahoma. Within a couple years they made their home in Eureka. To this union, one daughter was born.

Jo loved reading, embroidery, and sewing. She cared for many animals during their lives in Eureka, even installing a cat door in the garage so they could be warm at night. Paramount overall though was Jo’s love for her family. Bee preceded her in death on November 26, 2006.

She was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Eureka until her health forced her to move closer to family.

She is survived by her daughter, Vicki and husband, Kevin Larson of Olathe; two grandchildren, Jared and wife, Giovanna Larson of San Antonio, Texas; and Kyle and husband, Adam Soeken of Galva; and three great-grandchildren, Allie, Elynn, and Jovi. She was preceded in death by her parents and her sister, Barbara Stage.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 P.M., Wednesday, December 21, 2022, at Koup Family Funeral Home, Eureka with Chaplain James Morgan officiating. Interment will follow at Greenwood Cemetery, Eureka. Visitation will begin at 12:00 P.M., Wednesday, until service time.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to the First United Methodist Church, the Kansas Humane Society, or to the Evergreen Community of Johnson County. Contributions may be sent in care of Koup Family Funeral Home, PO Box 595, Eureka KS 67045, which is overseeing arrangements. Condolences may be left for the family online, at koupfunerals.com.
