Jewell McCaslin
Jewell Leise McCaslin of Eureka, died on Tuesday, September 2, 2014, at Howard Twilight Manor, in Howard, at the age of 94.
She was born on August 2, 1920, in Okeene, Oklahoma, the daughter of Dee Oliver and Rosa Nell (Reimer) Giggy. She attended school in Shattuck, Oklahoma, graduating from Shattuck High School. In 1938, she was united in marriage to Festus Leon Perkins in Higgins, Texas. They made their home in Perryton.
She worked as a bookkeeper for a hatchery and later purchased inventory for a men’s wear store. She later moved to Wichita and worked for Cessna and Wesley Hospital. Festus preceded her in death. Later, Jewell was united in marriage to John J. McCaslin. He preceded her in death.
She is survived by one step-son, Gene Perkins of Liberal; and one step-daughter, Virginia Hibbs of Liberal; two step-grandchildren; nephew, Nathan Fuqua; good friend, Norma Alexander; and her nursing home family. She was preceded in death by her parents, husbands, and two sisters.
Graveside services will be held at 10:00 A.M., Friday, September 5, 2014 at Greenwood Cemetery in Eureka with Mr. Jayme A. Koup officiating.
In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that memorials be made to Howard Twilight Manor. Contributions may be sent in care of Koup Family Funeral Home, P.O. Box 595, Eureka, KS 67045, which was in charge of service arrangements.
