Jerry Dee Clites, of Eureka, died at the Greenwood County Hospital on Wednesday, May 31, 2006, at the age of 65.

He was born in Wichita, Kansas on July 4, 1940, the son of Ival Leroy and Dorothy June (Breaker) Clites. He was raised in Wichita and Eureka, and graduated from Eureka High School with the class of 1958.

On May 23, 1959, Jerry was united in marriage to Jerry Ann Byrd in Eureka. They made their home in Eureka.

Jerry was a crane operator in El Dorado. During his career he worked for Skelly Oil, Getty, and Texaco, retiring after twenty-nine years of service. He was a member of Fidelity Masonic Lodge in Eureka and the Eureka Country Club.

He is survived by his wife, Jerry Ann of the home, mother, Dorothy of Eureka, son, James of Eureka, one grandchild, brothers, Terry and Larry of El Dorado, and sister, Shirley Eddings of Eureka. He was preceded in death by his father, one son, Ronald, two daughters, Lisa and Jodie, and one grandchild.

Graveside services and interment will be held at 10:00 A.M., Friday, June 2, 2006, with Pastor Alan Hunter of the Jefferson Street Baptist Church officiating.

A memorial has been established in his name to the Union Rescue Mission. Contributions may be sent in care of Koup Family Funeral Home, which was in charge of service arrangements.
