Jay Dee Brown of Victoria, British Columbia, Canada, formerly of Climax, died on Wednesday, April 14, 2010, at his residence, at the age of 63.
Jay was born on July 26, 1946, in Eureka, Kansas, the son of Harold D. and Hazel Brown. He was raised in Eureka and graduated from Eureka High School. After graduation Jay joined the Air Force. Upon his discharge he worked in electronics in Wichita and for G.R. Lewis in Eureka. He and his brother, Kris, started KOTE Radio in Eureka. In 1994, Jay moved to Victoria British Columbia, Canada and worked in sales before purchasing Plan B Imprinting LTD.
Jay was united in marriage to Carol Hudson in 1965. This marriage later ended in divorce. Jay married Linda Nicholson at Climax, Kansas, in 1980.
He is survived by his wife Linda, and son, Jason Brown, both of Victoria, British Columbia, Canada; daughters Nicole Rempfer of Kentucky and Jessie Brown of Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada; three grandchildren; mother Hazel Brown of Eureka; brothers, Kelly Brown, of Haysville, Kansas, and Kris Brown of Climax, Kansas; and sister Becky Schaffer of Eureka. He was preceded in death by his father.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 A.M., Saturday, April 24, 2010, at Koup Family Funeral Home with Mr. Jim Brothers officiating. Interment will be at 3:00 P.M., Sunday, April 25, 2010 at Fairview Cemetery in Kearney, Missouri.
