James Ronald “Ron” Bratton, of Eureka died on August 15, 2004, at his residence in Eureka, at the age of 60.
He was born on July 23, 1944, in Neal, Kansas the son of Don and Ethel (Dees) Bratton Sr. He was raised in Eureka and graduated from Eureka High School with the class of 1962. He later attended Emporia State University for three years before enlisting in the United States Army and served his country during the Vietnam conflict. After his discharge, he worked as a signalman for the railroad and later for Skelly Refinery.
Ron was a member of the Bible Baptist Church of Eureka.
He is survived by one daughter, Marlynda Bratton, of Eureka; mother, Ethel Bratton of Eureka; two brothers, Phillip Bratton of Eureka, and David Bratton of Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada; three sisters, Mickey McCartney of Yates Center, Phyllis Milner of Eureka, and Linda Pitkin of Midland, Texas.
He was preceded in death by his father and three brothers.
Memorial services will be held at 10:00 A.M., Friday, August 20, 2004, at Greenwood Cemetery, Eureka with Reverend Lloyd Stewart of the Bible Baptist Church officiating.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to the Marlynda Bratton Fund. Contributions may be sent in care of Koup Family Funeral Home, which was in charge of service arrangements.
