Jackie Lea Miller of Eureka, died on Thursday, March 29, 2018 at Greenwood County Hospital, in Eureka, at the age of 86.
She was born on August 5, 1931, in Peabody, Kansas, the daughter of Allen Roy and Sylvia Lillian (Milner) Bumgardner. She was raised in rural Greenwood County attending Eureka High School, graduating with the class of 1949. She worked at the City Drug store in Eureka during high school. On July 13, 1950, Jackie was united in marriage to Pat V. Miller in Eureka. To this union, three children were born. Jackie worked at the Bi-Rite in Eureka for many years until her retirement in the late 80’s. Pat preceded her in death on January 17, 2011.
Jackie is survived by her children, Terry Miller of Bern, Kansas; Gary Miller of Syracuse, New York; and Carol Bitler of Eureka; nine grandchildren; and thirteen great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; and six siblings, Frank Bumgardner, Helen Carlisle, Correnne Allen, Jean Donohue, Aleen Elrod, and Lu Ann Ulrich.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M., Tuesday, April 3, 2018 at Koup Family Funeral Home, in Eureka, with Mr. Jayme A. Koup officiating. Interment will follow at Greenwood Cemetery, Eureka.
In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that memorials be made to the Eureka Nursing Center or to the Greenwood County Hospital.
