Jack Dale Alford, of Eureka, died on Wednesday, November 4, 2020, at Greenwood County Hospital, in Eureka, at the age of 63.
He was born on June 30, 1957, in Eureka, the son of Kenneth Duane and Mary Ellen (Dye) Alford. He was raised in Eureka and attended local schools. He started working in oilfield jobs. On July 15, 1978, Jack was united in marriage to Cynthia Ann Buckle in Eureka, where they made their home. To this union, three children were born. Jack worked for Blackburn Construction for thirty-one years.
Jack loved hunting and fishing and working on the Buckle family farm. He will be remembered as a great cook, for his luck when gambling, and for his ornery sense of humor. He loved being a grandpa and will be greatly missed.
He is survived by his wife, Cyndi of the home; three children, Celisa Reding and husband, Drew of Ottawa; Sean Alford and fiancé, Yvette Lawrence of Eureka; and Mathew Alford and wife, Kodi of Olathe; eight grandchildren; three siblings, Joe Alford of Marienbaum, Germany; Debbie Plew of Mulvane; and Rhonda Bartel of Mulvane; and his mother- and father-in-law, Ed & Joan Buckle of Eureka. He was preceded in death by his parents; and one brother, Rocky Alford.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 A.M., Monday, November 9, 2020, at Koup Family Funeral Home, in Eureka with Pastor Drew Reding of the Grace Community Fellowship of Ottawa officiating. Masks should be worn and social distancing observed. Interment will follow at Janesville Cemetery, Hamilton. Visitation hours are set from 4:00 P.M. to 6:00 P.M., Sunday, at the funeral home.
