Jace Derick Ross, of Eureka, died on Friday, June 20, 2008, in rural Eureka at the age of 15.
He was born on July 7, 1992, in Norman, Oklahoma, the son of Curt and Vicki (Lindsey) Ross. When Jace was 2, the family moved to Eureka, where Jace attended local schools. He played Little League Baseball and was a Nascar fan with Jeff Gordon being his favorite driver. He was avid video game player and he loved fishing.
He was a member of the Jefferson Street Baptist Church.
He is survived by his parents, Curt & Vicki Ross of Eureka; three brothers, Jordan Ross of Lawton, Oklahoma; Jessie Ross of Eureka; and Jaron Ross of Eureka; one sister, Jennifer Ross of Eureka; and paternal grandparents, Martha and Jim Ross of El Dorado, Kansas; maternal grandmother, Joyce Lindsey of Bartlesville, Oklahoma.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M., Thursday, June 26, 2008, at the First United Methodist Church of Eureka, with Pastor Alan Hunter of the Jefferson Street Baptist Church officiating. Interment will follow in Greenwood Cemetery.
A memorial has been established in his name to the Jace D. Ross Memorial Scholarship Fund; no flowers, please. Contributions may be sent in care of Koup Family Funeral Home at P.O. Box 595, Eureka, KS 67045, which was in charge of service arrangements.
