Irene E. Skinner of Eureka, died on November 24, 2006 at Medicalodge in Eureka, Kansas at the age of 99.
She was born on March 11, 1907 in Toledo, Ohio the daughter of Joseph H. and Frances (Currin) Brabazon. She was raised in the Toledo area before the family moved to Oklahoma and Missouri finally settling Bethel, Kansas. She graduated from high school in Bethel, Kansas in 1926. She was a homemaker and farmed with her husband.
On May 28, 1933 she married Chester E. Skinner in White Church in Bethel, Kansas. They made their home in Lawrence, Kansas. On December 9, 1964 Chester preceded her in death. Irene lived in Lawrence until 2002 when she moved to Eureka to be closer to her daughter.
She is a member of the Trinity Episcopal Church in Lawrence, Kansas. Irene was involved with the Kanwaka Literary Club and a 4-H Leader.
She is survived by her son Thomas C. Skinner of Lawrence, Kansas and daughter Mary K. Stauffer of Eureka; six grandchildren; fourteen great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents and husband.
Funeral services will be at 10:30 A.M., Wednesday, November 29, 2006 at Trinity Episcopal Church in Lawrence, Kansas. Interment will follow in Oak Hill Cemetery.
