Ida Mae Sutter
Ida Mae Sutter of Eureka, died on Thursday, April 19, 2012 at her home in Eureka at the age of 95.
She was born on May 22, 1916, in Yates Center, the daughter of William and Lillian Ada (Wars) Porter. She was raised in Yates Center and attended local schools. After her schooling, she helped on the family farm. On August 11, 1942 she was united in marriage to Floyd Francis Powell in Towanda. He preceded her in death on January 3, 1983. On January 14, 1984 she was united in marriage to Earl Clifford Sutter in Eureka. He preceded her in death on August 4, 2004.
She is survived by her son, Ron Powell of Eureka; and two daughters, Patricia Richey of Wichita; and Karen Richey of Wichita; step-daughter, Sandy S. Long of Wichita; nineteen grandchildren; thirty-six great-grandchildren; numerous great-great-grandchildren; and one brother, Floyd Porter of Wichita. She was preceded in death by her parents, two husbands, five sisters, and three brothers, and one daughter, Frances M. Powell.
A memorial service will be held at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that memorials be made to the Eureka Public Library. Contributions may be sent in care of Koup Family Funeral Home at P.O. Box 595, Eureka, KS 67045, which was in charge of service arrangements.
