Helen Alice Sanders, of Eureka, died on Wednesday, September 26, 2007 at Howard Twilight Manor, at the age of 95.
She was born on August 31, 1912, in Herington, the daughter of Edward A. and Mary Elizabeth (Watson) Jayne. The family moved to Greenwood County when Helen was 5. She graduated from Hamilton High School with the class of 1931. On March 25, 1933, she was united in marriage to Elmer Leon Sanders in Eureka where they made their home. He preceded her in death on March 11, 1994.
Helen was a homemaker, and a member of the First United Methodist Church of Eureka.
She is survived by two sons, Bob Sanders of Eureka; and Bill Sanders of Lawrence; one daughter, Jayne Wiggans of Kent, Washington; seven grandchildren; fourteen great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, four brothers, and six sisters.
Graveside services will be held at 1:00 P.M., Saturday, September 29, 2007, at Greenwood Cemetery, in Eureka with Reverend Diana Hill of the First United Methodist Church officiating. Services were entrusted to Koup Family Funeral Home.
