Harold Duane Bryant, of Waverly, formerly of Eureka, died on April 13, 2010 at Sunset Manor in Waverly, at the age of 83.
He was born on March 19, 1927, in Pocattontas, Arkansas, the son of Verlon and Ova (Newberry) Bryant. He was raised in Kansas and attended school in Dodge City, Kansas. At the onset of WWII he served in the United States Navy serving his country with honor and dignity. After the war Duane worked for Boeing Aircraft. He retired due to his health. He moved to Eureka in the early 1990’s before moving to Waverly.
On November 10, 1948 he was united in marriage to Sue Barbour. To this union four children where born.
He is survived by his wife, Sue; two sons, Vern Bryant of Eureka; and Jimmy Bryant of Eureka; two daughters, Marsha Williams of Newton; and Karen Nielsen of Lebo; eight grandchildren; and ten great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, and one grandson, Bryant Mackey.
Funeral services will be held at 3:00 P.M., Friday, April 16, 2010, at Koup Family Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Greenwood Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that memorials be made to the Sue Bryant Care Fund. Contributions may be sent in care of Koup Family Funeral Home at P.O. Box 595, Eureka, KS 67045, which was in charge of service arrangements.
