Glenn Oliver Brown of Eureka, died on Friday, January 31, 2020, at the Eureka Nursing Center, in Eureka, at the age of 77.
He was born on October 11, 1942, in Eureka, the son of Hugh Linn and Olive Lucille (Guisinger) Brown. He was raised in Eureka and attended local schools. The family later moved to the Wichita area where Glenn graduated from Derby High School with the Class of 1960. After his schooling he enlisted in the United States Air Force. He served with honor and dignity from 1961 to 1969 including ten months in Southeast Asia.
After his discharge he returned to Eureka. On August 25, 1983, Glenn was united in marriage to Kathy Haney in Eureka, where they made their home. They welcomed two children to their family. Together they operated Brown’s 2-Way working on radios and cell phones. He retired in the early 00’s. The marriage later ended in divorce.
Glenn was very active in Cub Scouts and Boy Scouts in Eureka, having earned the District Award of Merit. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Eureka.
He is survived by his daughters, Michelle Brown-McGaugh of Sedgwick; and Samantha Brown-Feck of Eureka; and five grandchildren: Skylar, Kloey, Alyse, Blake, and Aubrey. He was preceded in death by his parents; and brother, Leonard Brown.
Memorial services will be held later in the spring. Cremation has been effected. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to the Boy Scout Troop 216.
