Glen Milton Carroll, of Florence, died on Tuesday, May 20, 2008 at his home in Florence, at the age of 64.
He was born on March 12, 1944, in Eureka, the son of Henry and Mary Lou (Chastain) Carroll. He was raised in Eureka, and attended local schools. He began working as a truck driver in the oil fields, where he stayed until, due to his health, he retired. In 1960, he was united in marriage to Loretta Jean Cox. This marriage later ended in divorce. In the early 1970’s he was united in marriage to Grace. This marriage ended in divorce. On July 5, 2003, Glen was united in marriage to Judy Crooks in Florence, where they made their home.
He is survived by five step-sons, David Jones of Americus; John Britton of Liberty, Missouri; Don Britton of Amarillo, Texas; Mike Britton of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; and Shannon Britton of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; four daughters, Glenda Carroll of Emporia; Ethel Renfro of Columbus, Indiana; Mary Hale of Americus; Tina Emly of Fairview, Montana; four step-daughters, Tonya of El Dorado; Verna Grosse of El Dorado; Leah Schmidt of Marion; and Ina Britton of Marion; twenty grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren; two brothers, Frank Carroll of Eureka; and Mike Carroll of Gillette, Wyoming; and five sisters, Peggy Brown of Atlanta, Georgia; Linda Shaw of Eureka; Teresa Lish of Gillette, Wyoming; Brenda Nuessen of El Dorado; and Sherry Sandy of Wright, Wyoming.
Memorial services will be held at 2:00 P.M., Friday, May 23, 2008 at Greenwood Cemetery, in Eureka with Pastor Steve Hysom of Trinity United Methodist Church of El Dorado officiating. Cremation has been effected.
In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that memorials be made to Veterans of Foreign Wars Post #2712. Contributions may be sent in care of Koup Family Funeral Home at P.O. Box 595, Eureka, KS 67045, which was in charge of service arrangements.
