Gladys Louise Gano of Eureka, died on March 19, 2007, at Greenwood County Hospital in Eureka at the age of 86.
She was born on June 18, 1920 in Concordia, Kansas the daughter of James Albert and Rosie Marie (Schmonski) Moore. She was raised in Concordia and attended school there. She lived in Barnes, Kansas and Beatrice Nebraska for a time before moving to Cortez, Colorado. She then moved to Eureka in 1945 and worked as a bookkeeper for Gano’s Auto Service for many years.
On March 15, 1940 she married Donald Leonard Gano in Washington, Kansas. They made their home in Kansas, Nebraska and Colorado before moving to Eureka. He preceded her in death on February 15, 1983.
She was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Eureka.
She is survived by two half-sisters, Patricia Sailor of Stockton, Missouri and Janice Bryant of Kansas; and several cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents and husband and sister.
Services were held at 10:00 A.M., Thursday, March 22, 2007 at Koup Family Funeral Home with Reverend Diana Hill officiating. Interment followed in Greenwood Cemetery.
