George Michael Denner of Eureka, died on Monday, March 17, 2014 at his residence at the age of 66.
He was born on March 16, 1948 in Eureka, the son of William E. and Meredith J. (Robison) Denner. George was raised in Eureka attending local schools graduating with his class. After his schooling, he joined the Army in 1968 serving his country with honor and dignity. After he was discharged from the Army he returned to Eureka where he worked a variety of general labor jobs. In March 1975, he was united in marriage to Sherry Soule in Eureka. This marriage later ended in divorce.
He is survived by his two daughters, Kristi Stapleford of El Dorado; and Kerri Young of Leon; four grandchildren; three sisters, Myrna Price of Olewein, Iowa; Rosie Crane of Iola; and Janie Dickison of Anacortes, Washington; and three brothers, Jerry Johnson of Silver Lake; Johnny Denner of Fairbury, Nebraska; and Tom Denner of Eureka.
Memorial services will be held at 1:00 P.M., Saturday, March 22, 2014 at Koup Family Funeral Home with Pastor Deron Johnson officiating. Inurnment will take place at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that memorials be made to VFW Post #2712. Contributions may be sent in care of Koup Family Funeral Home, P.O. Box 595, Eureka, KS 67045, which was in charge of service arrangements.
