Frieda May Friend of Eureka, died Sunday, September 30, 2018 at Eureka Nursing Center in Eureka, at the age of 86.
She was born May 31, 1932, in Hume, Missouri, the daughter of George Richard and Mabel Ellen (Woods) Wiggins. She was raised in the Burkett area attending Burkett Grade School and later graduating from Hamilton High School. On November 3, 1956, Frieda was united in marriage to Russell Harley Friend. They made their home in Wichita. Russell preceded her in death on November 28, 1991. Frieda later lived in Ponca City and then Eureka later in life.
She was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church of Eureka.
She is survived by one brother, Wayne Wiggins of Eureka; and numerous nephews and nieces. She was preceded in death by her parents and six siblings: Nina, George, Martha, Richard, Fred, and Jim.
Cremation has been effected. No services are planned. Inurnment will be made at Greenwood Cemetery, Eureka. Koup Family Funeral Home is overseeing arrangements.
