Fred H. Linden
Fred Harley Linden of Braman, Oklahoma, died on Monday, November 18, 2013 at AMG Specialty Hospital, in Wichita, at the age of 73.
He was born on January 4, 1940, in Hamilton, the son of Frank and Fay (Uhl) Linden. He was raised in Hamilton and attended local schools. In 1959, he joined the United States Air Force serving in Topeka, KS, Texas, and Greenland, among others. On August 5, 1964, Fred was united in marriage to Neva Schlotterbeck in Hamilton. After his discharge in 1964, they made their home in Madison and later Hamilton. Eventually they moved to Braman, Oklahoma.
Fred was a Scoutmaster of the Madison and Hamilton Boy Scout troops.
He is survived by his wife, Neva of the home; three sons, Larry Loren Linden of Braman, Oklahoma; Brian Lee Linden of South Haven; and James Justin Linden of Braman, Oklahoma; two daughters, Loretta Lynn and husband, Clint Summitt of Newkirk, Oklahoma; and Irene and husband, Dan Monson of Wellington; eight grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; three brothers, Jim Linden of Sterling; Mason Linden of Independence; John Linden of Hamilton; and three sisters, Esther Pugh of El Dorado; Karen Sickler of Neosho Rapids; and Mavis Linden of Sand Springs, Oklahoma. He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Frank Ira; brother, Clifford Linden; and two sisters, Hazel Reed; and Rosie Stafford.
Memorial services will be held at 10:00 A.M., Saturday, November 23, 2013 at Janesville Cemetery, Hamilton. Visitation hours are from 5:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M., Wednesday, at the funeral home. Cremation will be effected following the visitation.
In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that memorials be made to Hennessy-Cunningham American Legion Post #259. Contributions may be sent in care of Koup Family Funeral Home, P.O. Box 595, Eureka, KS 67045, which was in charge of service arrangements.
