Floyd Homer Smith of Toronto, died on Sunday, December 16, 2007, at Greenwood County Hospital in Eureka, at the age of 52.

He was born on June 28, 1955, in El Dorado, the son of Clyde Donald and Erma (Cook) Smith. After graduating from Leroy High School, he was united in marriage to Pamela Rogers of Toronto. This marriage later ended in divorce. They had two children, Bryan and Shelly. He followed in his fathers footsteps, as did his five brothers, working as a pipeline welder. He was promoted to Field Supervisor for Northern Pipeline, working in that position until his retirement. He later made a home with May Damron in Toronto.

Floyd was a member of the Good News Baptist Church of Toronto, Woodson Masonic Lodge #121, the Toronto Booster Club, and was active in the Toronto Community.

He is survived by his wife, May of the home; one son, Bryan, and wife, Jessica Smith of Eureka; three daughters, Shelly, and husband, Ron Green of Toronto; Samantha Smalley of Olathe; and Tabitha, and husband, Chris Nelson of Toronto; parents, Clyde & Erma Smith of Toronto; seven grandchildren, Halie, Ethan, and Tyler Green, Timothy Stack, Addison Ross, and Sophia and Cooper Nelson; and five brothers, Donald Smith of Yates Center; Lonnie Smith of Cedar Point; Clyde Smith of Toronto; Tommy Smith of Toronto; and Jackie Smith of Coyville.

He was preceded in death by one sister, Penny Sue Smith.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 A.M., Thursday, December 20, 2007 at Koup Family Funeral Home, in Eureka with Pastor Alan Hunter of the Jefferson Street Baptist Church officiating. Interment will follow in Toronto Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that memorials be made to Woodson Masonic Lodge #121, or to Shriners Hospitals for Children. Contributions may be sent in care of Koup Family Funeral Home at P.O. Box 595, Eureka, KS 67045, which was in charge of service arrangements.
