Floyd D. Pryce
Floyd Duane Pryce of El Dorado, formerly of Eureka, passed away on July 14, 2012 at Susan B. Allen Hospital in El Dorado.
Floyd was born on December 3, 1946 in Eureka, Kansas at Boone Nursing Home to Doris (Ritter) Pryce and Floyd Raymond Pryce. He went to school in Eureka and graduated in 1964. He joined the Army in 1965 and was discharged in 1967 from the Vietnam War and continued his military career until he retired in 1999. He worked at Boeing in the paint shop until he retired at age 61.
He married Geneva (Thiessen) Pryce on March 29, 1969 and they had three children: Kevin, Kim and Kyle. He later married Jackie (Messick) Pryce and had two sons; Brandon and Grayson. Duane enjoyed refereeing basketball and umpiring softball. He was an avid sports fan and especially enjoyed watching horseracing. Duane spent many hours setting catfish lines in rivers around Eureka.
Duane was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Larry Dean; and two grand-daughters; Sierra Ann Bleyle and Mackenzie Alyssa Pryce. Survivors include: sisters, Debbie (Pryce) Wyckoff and husband, David of Eureka; Linda Pryce-Sheehan and husband, Tim of Selma, CA.; Shirley (Pryce) Glock and husband Keith of Whitewater; brother, Terry Pryce and wife, Gail of Newton; sons, Kevin Pryce and wife, Sharon of Wellington; Kyle Pryce and wife, Paula of St. Paul., MN; Brandon Pryce of Eureka and Grayson Pryce of Eureka; daughter, Kim (Pryce) Bleyle of Newton and grandchildren, Jordan Bleyle, Matthew Pryce, Lillian Pryce, and Audrey Price.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M., Friday, July 20, 2012 at Koup Family Funeral Home with Pastor Mark Demas of the Hamilton United Methodist Church officiating. Visitation hours are from 5:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M., Thursday, at the funeral home. Interment will follow in Greenwood Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that memorials be made to the USA Wrestling Club or Boy Scout Troop 216 of Eureka. Contributions may be sent in care of Koup Family Funeral Home at P.O. Box 595, Eureka, KS 67045, which was in charge of service arrangements.
