Flora Maxine Mann, of Eureka, Kansas died at Medicalodge of Eureka on Wednesday, March 16, 2005, at the age of 90.

She was born in Madison, Kansas on September 27, 1914, the daughter of Clarence L. and Sarah A. (Cunningham) Groat. She was raised in the Madison/Hamilton area and attended rural Greenwood County schools.

On February 15, 1933, Flora was united in marriage to Eldon E. Mann Sr. They made their home southeast of Hamilton until 1949, when the family moved to Eureka. Flora worked at the Peter Pan Ice Cream Store and then at the Eureka Locker Plant. She retired in the late 1970’s. Eldon preceded her in death on February 2, 1992.

She is survived by two sons, Eldon “Elliott” Mann Jr. of Eureka, and Alfred Mann of Burlington, one daughter, Myra Larcom of Eureka, eight Grandchildren, nineteen Great-Grandchildren, seven Great-Great-Grandchildren, one brother, Clarence “Pete” Groat of Eureka, and two sisters, Edna Mann and Ilene Cassin both of Eureka. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and one daughter, Myrna Magner.

Funeral services were held at 2:00 P.M., Friday, March 18, 2005, at Koup Family Funeral Home, with Reverend Wallace Wartick of the Grenola Christian Church officiating. Interment followed in Greenwood Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers memorials have been established in her name to Medicalodge of Eureka and the Greenwood County Hospice. Contributions may be sent in care of the funeral home at P.O. Box 595, Eureka, Kansas 67045.
