Faye Pearl Meadows, of Eureka, died at Medicalodge of Eureka on Friday, February 20, 2004, at the age of 86.
She was born in Blackwell, Oklahoma on December 10, 1917, the daughter of Bun Wesley and Winnie Louisa (Ober) Shepherd. The family moved to the Gridley, Kansas area in a covered wagon when Faye was very young. They then moved to the Tonovay community. Faye attended school at the District 24 country school and at Tonovay.
On January 2, 1935, she was united in marriage to Albert Meadows in Leavenworth, Kansas. The family made their home in Virgil until 1964 when they moved to the Eureka area.
Faye was a member of the Nazarene Church and Royal Neighbors. During her lifetime, she was a sales representative for Stanley Home Products, Tupperware, and Avon, as well as being the owner and operator of the Tip Top Motel in Eureka.
She is survived by two daughters, Shirley Finke of Emporia and Connie Schlotterbeck of Eureka; eight grandchildren, and nine great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, son, Wesley Meadows, daughter, Winnie Meadows, two brothers, and three sisters.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M., Wednesday, February 25, 2004, at the Koup Family Funeral Home, with Pastor Alan Hunter of the Jefferson Street Baptist Church officiating. Interment will follow in Janesville Cemetery, Hamilton, Kansas.
Memorials have been established in her name to Medicalodge of Eureka and the Jefferson Street Baptist Church. Contributions may be sent in care of the funeral home.
