Everett Ray Birkholz, of Eureka died on August 26, 2004, at Osage Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Osage City at the age of 90.
He was born on February 4, 1914, in Argonia, Kansas, the son of Paul and Gertie (Rothur) Birkholz. He attended Argonia schools. After his schooling, Everett worked in the oil fields for many years and worked on his farm in Greenwood County. On September 11, 1937, he was united in marriage to Pauline Passig in Argonia. To this union two children were born, Carolyn and Larry.
He was a member of the Jefferson Street Baptist Church and for a time taught square dancing for 4-H.
He is survived by his wife, Pauline; one daughter, Carolyn L. & Ron Holland of Vassar, Kansas; daughter-in-law, Beverly Noland; one grandson, Larry; and one great-granddaughter. He was preceded in death by his parents, one son, three brothers, and five sisters.
Funeral services will be held at 1:30 P.M., Monday, August 30, 2004 at Koup Family Funeral Home in Eureka, with Pastor Alan Hunter of the Jefferson Street Baptist Church officiating. Interment will follow in Greenwood Cemetery
