Evan Craig Olson, of Madison, died near Hamilton, Kansas, on October 24, 2003, at the age of 16.
He was born in El Dorado, on September 10, 1987, the son of Craig Alan and Diana (McCormick) Olson. He was raised in the Eureka and Madison areas and attended Hamilton and Madison schools, and was a member of the Kansas Best Club.
He is survived by his parents, Craig and Nancy Olson of Eureka, and Diana and Jeff Turner of Madison; two brothers, Andrew McCormick, and Anthony Olson both of Madison; one half-brother, Webster Olson of Seattle, Washington; three step-brothers, Jake Turner of Madison, Mark Richardson of Winfield, and Scott Richardson of Newton; one step-sister, Julie Richardson of Eureka; one uncle, Roger McCormick of Eureka; and two grandmothers, Doris Olson of Eureka, and Donna Watchous-McCormick of Emporia.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M., Monday, October 27, 2003 at Koup Family Funeral Home, with Mr. Dean Fox of the Hamilton Community Fellowship, and Pastor Steve McVey of Lamont Wesleyan Church officiating. Interment will follow in Greenwood Cemetery.
The Evan Olson Memorial Fund has been established in his name. Contributions may be sent in care of the funeral home.
