Ethel Beulah Bratton, of Eureka, died at Medicalodge of Eureka on Monday, October 25, 2004, at the age of 95.

She was born on May 30, 1909, in Hasty, Arkansas, the daughter of John and Missouri Emoline (Carver) Dees. She was raised in Bellfont, Arkansas and attended school there. After her schooling she worked in a cannery and in the cotton fields.

On June 21, 1934, Ethel was united in marriage to Don Bratton Sr. They made there home in rural Eureka where she was a farm wife and homemaker. Don preceded her in death on June 15, 1974.

Ethel is survived by one son, Phillip Bratton of Eureka, one step-son, David Bratton of Langley, Canada, three daughters, Phyllis Milner of Eureka, Mickey McCartney of Yates Center, and Linda Pitkin of Midland, Texas, sixteen grandchildren, twenty nine great-grandchildren and one sister, Arria Dees of Wichita. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, three sons, Don Bratton Jr., Eddie Bratton, and Ronnie Bratton, one step-son, Gene Bratton, one grandchild, three brothers, and four sisters.

Graveside services and interment will be held at 11:00 A.M., Tuesday, October 26, 2004, in Greenwood Cemetery, with Reverend Lloyd Stewart of the Bible Baptist Church officiating.

In lieu of flowers a memorial has been established in her name to the Greenwood County Hospice. Contributions may be sent in care of Koup Family Funeral Home, P.O. Box 595, Eureka, Kansas 67045, which was in charge of service arrangements.
