Emma Kathryn “Kit” Lingo of Eureka, Kansas died on February 14, 2007 at Galichia Heart Hospital in Wichita, Kansas at the age of 77.
She was born on March 12, 1929 in Tulsa, Oklahoma the daughter of James Samuel and Julia E. (Mooney) Bradley. She was raised in Oklahoma and graduated with the class of 1944.
On September 25, 1948 she married Carnell Lee Lingo in Tulsa, Oklahoma. While Carnell was serving in the navy Kit lived in California. After his discharge they moved back to Oklahoma before moving to Kansas with Carnell’s job. The couple lived in various places before moving to Eureka in 1957. They resided here for eighteen years. Carnell was transferred to Perryton, Texas then Midland, Texas where they resided for twenty-four years. Kit moved back to Eureka after Carnell’s death in 2001.
She is survived by her son, Monty Lee Lingo of Perryton, Texas; daughters, Bonita Broyles of Eureka, Kansas and Tammy Anderson of Midland, Texas; eight grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren; brother, Ralph Bradley of Tulsa, Oklahoma; sisters, Carolyn Waldon of Tulsa, Oklahoma and Dorothy Mattoon of Skitook, Oklahoma. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, one grandchild and one great-grandchild.
Funeral services will be at 2:00 P.M. on Saturday, February 17, 2007 at Koup Family Funeral Home with Pastor Alan Hunter presiding. Interment will follow in Greenwood Cemetery.
