Emily Marie “Tiny” Town, of Eureka, died on Saturday, July 29, 2006 at Greenwood County Hospital, in Eureka, at the age of 81.
She was born on July 2, 1925, in Fair Play, Missouri, the daughter of James Arthur and Malinda Jane (Belcher) Yost. She was raised in Eureka and attended local schools. On July 12, 1945, she was united in marriage to Junior Milton Town. The family made their home in Eureka. The union lasted 35 years, and three children were born unto it.
Emily was a homemaker. She enjoyed assisting with the vote counting for the county election board, and meeting her morning coffee group every Sunday afternoon.
She is survived by two sons, Jeff Town of Dodge City; and Larry Town of Howard; one daughter, Cheryl McCoy of Kiefer, Oklahoma; twelve grandchildren; twenty great-grandchildren; and seven great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, James, and Robert; one sister, Wilda; and one grandson, Robert.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 A.M., Wednesday, August 2, 2006 at Koup Family Funeral Home with Mr. Jayme A. Koup officiating. The family will greet friends and visitors from 6:00 – 8:00 P.M., Tuesday, at the funeral home.
