Edith “Marie” Pickell, died December 1, 2004 at Greenwood County Hospital. She was born August 22, 1919 south of Piedmont, Kansas, to William “Bill” and Cora Spease Leo. She graduated from Howard High School. On March 26, 1944, she married Albert Pickell. They lived in Elk Falls and then moved to other ranches where Albert worked and retired in Eureka, Kansas. She was a homemaker and worked in the fields during her young adult life. She started selling Avon in the Elk\Greenwood counties area in 1967 and sold it for 27 years. She was a member of “President’s Club” in Avon for several years and received numerous “Miss Albee” dolls for her work in Avon.
She is survived by her husband of 60 years, Albert, a nephew Earnie Chaffain of Hartford, two nieces Darlene Bruner of El Dorado and Nancy Hayes of Mulvane.
Funeral services wil be at the Koup Family Funeral Home in Eureka on Saturday, December 4 at 11:00 A.M. Memorials to the Victory in the Valley of Wichita, or the Harry Hynes Hospice may be sent to the funeral home.
