Dorothy Irene Dimick, of Eureka, died at the Greenwood County Hospital on Saturday, August 13, 2005, at the age of 91.

She was born in Neal, Kansas on June 16, 1913, the daughter of Rudolph and Sara (Strimple) Bohn. Dorothy attended Neal schools and graduated from Neal High School with the class of 1933.

On December 25, 1934, she was united in marriage to Ernest Harold Dimick in Eureka. After their marriage the left the area and moved extensively with Ernest’s job. In 1969, they retired and moved to Eureka. Ernest preceded her in death on July 19, 2000, after 65 years of marriage.

Dorothy was a homemaker and a member of the Christian and Congregational Church of Eureka, Queen Bess Chapter 56, Order of the Eastern Star, and had recently received the Lifetime Distinguished Citizen Award from The Kansas Health Care Association, Region 2.

She is survived by several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, one brother, one half-brother, and one sister.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 A.M., Wednesday, August 17, 2005, at Koup Family Funeral Home with Pastor Stan Seymour of the El Dorado Christian Church officiating. Interment will follow in Greenwood Cemetery.

A memorial has been established in her name to the Queen Bess Chapter 56, Order of the Eastern Star. Contributions may be sent in care of the funeral home at P.O. Box 595, Eureka, Kansas 67045.
