Doris L. Black
Doris Lucile Black of Toronto, died on Sunday, July 21, 2012 at the Eureka Nursing Center in Eureka at the age of 83.
Doris was born on December 23, 1928 in Woodson County the daughter of Floyd and Louise (Englebright) Pendlay. She was raised in Woodson County and attended local schools. After her schooling, she worked as a housekeeper.
On April 18, 1953 she was united in marriage to Ivan Black in Yates Center. They made their home in Toronto where Doris helped on the family ranch and raised a family.
She was a member of the Presbyterian Church of Toronto before it closed.
She is survived by her husband, Ivan of the home; sons, Steven Black of Topeka; Douglas Black of Toronto; and Mitchell Black of Rock Port, Texas; three grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and two sisters, Wilma Hassdett of Woodson County; and Velma Settlemeyer of Burlington. She was preceded in death by her parents, and one grandchild.
Graveside services will be held at 10:00 A.M., Wednesday, July 25, 2012 at Toronto Cemetery in Toronto with Pastor Jon Petty of the Cowboy Church and the Arena of Life officiating. Interment will follow at Toronto Cemetery.
