Donald Dwayne Weston, of Hamilton, died on October 4, 2005, at Newman Regional Health in Emporia, at the age of 79.
He was born on December 21, 1925, in Greeley, Colorado, the son of Frank and Francis (McMillan) Weston. When Donald was two months old, the family moved to Newhall, California. He was raised in Newhall and attended local schools. Donald attended Newhall High School until his first year of high school. After which, he joined the United States Navy and served his country with honor and dignity during World War II.
On December 5, 1964, Donald was united in marriage to Omalee Smith in Las Vegas, Nevada. The family made their home in Newhall, before moving to Hamilton in 1969. Donald spent 15 years working as a custodian for Hamilton schools. He retired in 1986.
He is survived by his wife, Omalee; one son, David Weston of Newhall, California; one daughter, Dawn Vanderlaan of Sacramento, California; one stepdaughter, Linda Thompson of Kingman, Arizona; five grandchildren; two step grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and one step great-grandchild. He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother, and one sister.
Graveside services will be held at 2:00 P.M., Saturday, October 8, 2005 at Janesville Cemetery, Hamilton with Mr. Dean Fox of the Hamilton Community Fellowship officiating. A visitation will be held from 6 to 8 P.M., Friday, at Koup Family Funeral Home, Eureka. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to the American Cancer Society.
