Donald Herbert Preston of Eureka, Kansas, died on Saturday, October 14, 2017, at Greenwood County Hospital in Eureka, at the age of 90.
He was born February 16, 1927 in Eureka, the son of Charles and Mary Elizabeth (Barber) Preston. He was raised in Wichita and attended local schools. Following his education, Don was a produce manager for Safeway. He was an antique collector and especially loved his antique cars. He attended the United Methodist Church in Eureka, and later the Christ Lutheran Church. On December 24, 1945, Don was married to Betty Merle Hall in Wichita, Kansas. To this union one son was born. The family spent their time in California and Wichita, before retiring to Eureka, KS in 2000. She preceded him in death on June 7, 2007.
He was a member of the Model T Club of America.
Don is survived by his son, Scott Preston of Eureka. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Betty; and five siblings: James, Paul, Mary, Kenneth, and Letha.
No services are planned at this time. Private family inurnment will take place at a later date. Cremation has been effected.
