Dennis Dean Donaldson of Toronto, died on Tuesday, January 7, 2020, at the age of 70.
He was born on August 15, 1949, in Arkansas City, Kansas, the son of Fred Oscar and Melba Ione (Ashlock) Donaldson. He was raised throughout Kansas moving with his father’s work. He graduated from Hamilton High School with the Class of 1967. After his schooling, he joined the United States Army where he served with honor and dignity.
After his discharge, he worked in construction and later for Cessna and Boeing in production, tooling and welding. He later operated the Haysville Water Plant. He was disabled in 1998. On May 9, 1986, Dennis was united in marriage to Mary Joann (Linn) Dull. They made their home in Neal. She preceded him in death January 23, 2000.
On September 7, 2002, Dennis was united in marriage to Sally J. Stites in Branson, Missouri. They made their home in Toronto. She preceded him in death on January 10, 2011.
Dennis was a member of the Toronto American Legion.
He is survived by three stepdaughters, Penny and husband, Steve McGlachlin of Turon, Kansas; Tammy and husband, Bob Roth of Ridgefield, Connecticut; and Tressie and husband, C.D. Gulick of Eureka, Kansas; nine grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; wives; and sister, Rita Donaldson.
Graveside services will be held at 3:00 P.M., Monday, January 13, 2020, at Virgil Cemetery, in Virgil with Pastor Larry Evans of the Neal Evangelical Free Church officiating.
In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that memorials be made to the Neal Evangelical Free Church for the Todd Becker Foundation.
