Delbertta Leasure
Delbertta N. Leasure of Eureka, died on March 22, 2012 at Life Care Center of Andover at the age of 90.
Delbertta was born on June 6, 1921 in Miami, Texas the daughter of James Delbert and Dorthea Prinella (Hauge) Hale. She was raised in Hamilton and attended local schools graduating in 1939. She then attended Dickenson Secretary School getting her Associates Degree and worked at the Wichita Eagle Beacon. After her schooling she moved to Kansas City, Missouri and worked for Lee Manufacturing and Pratt and Whitney.
Delbertta married Everett Newman and moved to Boston where she worked for Logan International Airport in Boston. After Everett’s death she moved back to Kansas City. Later she married Edward J. Juresic and lived in Florida. They moved back to Eureka and started Juresic’s Clothing Store. This marriage later ended in divorce with Delbertta running the store until 1984. In 1978 she married Billy C. “Doc” Leasure. He preceded her in death on July 22, 2003.
She was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Eureka, the BPW, the Eastern Star, and the Eureka Area Chamber of Commerce.
She is survived by her son, John and wife, Lynette Juresic of Andover; and two grandchildren, Rachelle, and Nathan. She was preceded in death by her parents, husbands, one brother, and two sisters.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 A.M., Monday, March 26, 2012 at the First United Methodist Church in Eureka with Reverend Kenneth Baker officiating. Entombment will follow at Greenwood Abbey in Greenwood Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that memorials be made to the First United Methodist Church or to the Shriner’s Plane of Mercy. Contributions may be sent in care of Koup Family Funeral Home at P.O. Box 595, Eureka, KS 67045, which was in charge of service arrangements.
